Why We Started Shukily: A Marketplace Made by and for Makers in Israel
There’s something sacred about work done by hand.
It holds a story, a rhythm, a heartbeat. It connects us—to each other, to tradition, to place. In a world that moves fast and often feels impersonal, we long for things that feel real. That’s why we created Shukily.
Shukily is a handmade marketplace built for Israel. It’s a place where artists, makers, and small studios can share their work directly with the people who are looking for something personal, beautiful, and full of meaning. Whether it’s a ceramic mezuzah made in the Galilee, or handwoven baby blankets stitched in Tel Aviv, everything on Shukily is thoughtfully crafted and deeply rooted.
We started Shukily because we believe in:
- Preserving handmade culture, especially here in Israel where creativity and tradition intertwine.
- Supporting small businesses and artists, not algorithms and mass production.
- Bringing intentional shopping back to life, especially for gifts that matter.
The last few years have shown us how important it is to support each other locally. This is our way of doing just that.
Shukily means community. Shukily means craft. Shukily means connection.
